Peter Fleischmann, Director and CEO
Peter Fleischmann has served as director and chief executive officer of the Foundation for Jewish Philanthropies since 1982. He directs all development, grantmaking, investment and administrative operations. A specialist in charitable gift planning, he serves as a philanthropic advisor to individuals and families and as a development consultant to Jewish charities, providing professional support to both capital and endowment campaigns.
The Foundation, established in 1911, administers more than 1,200 endowments, charitable trusts and other philanthropic funds created by donors to serve broad charitable purposes. It also manages capital, reserve and endowment funds for 32 local Jewish social service agencies, organizations, temples and synagogues. During his tenure, the assets of the Foundation have grown from under $1 million in 1982 to more than $127 million.
Peter currently serves as a member of the Planned Giving and Endowment Committee of the Jewish Federation of North America and serves on its Senior Advisory Council. He is a past chairman of the National Endowment Advisory Committee of the United Jewish Communities, representing 150 endowment and foundation professionals throughout North America. Peter and the Foundation were recognized in 2003 for excellence in endowment development at the General Assembly of the United Jewish Communities.
Lynn Catalano, Director of Development
Lynn is in her 2nd year of service with the Foundation. Lynn’s responsibilities include assisting our 30 custodial agencies with endowment development and reenergizing the Foundation’s Legacies Program to dramatically increase the level of endowment giving in the Buffalo Jewish community.
Lisa J. Collins, Director of Administration
Lisa is in her 27th year of service with the Foundation. Her responsibilities include providing administrative support to the director, staff supervision, human resources functions, and client services.
Teresa C. K. David, CPA, Director of Finance
Teresa is in her 21st year of service with the Foundation. Her responsibilities include trusts administration, staff supervision, accounting records maintenance including our system of internal controls, the production of the Foundation’s financial statements, and liaison with our independent auditors.
Janine M. Allen, Director of Information Technology
Janine joined the Foundation in 1999 and is responsible for the management of the Foundation’s information technology systems, website development, research, database maintenance, client and agency fundraising support services.
Sam Golden, Development Officer
Sam is in his 8th year of service with the Foundation. He is responsible for providing fundraising support for a variety of capital and endowment campaigns on behalf of our affiliated agencies.
Catherine Aramini, Client Services Manager
Cathy is in her 33rd year of service with the Foundation. Her duties include processing of grant distributions for philanthropic, restricted and charitable trust funds.
Susan Gonsiorek, Grants Administrator
Susan’s duties include processing of grant distributions for philanthropic, restricted and charitable trust funds.
Heather Jerabek, Custodial Fund Administrator
Heather is in her 20th year of service with the Foundation. She is responsible for the recording of cash deposits, the processing of all custodial fund activity for our client agencies and the production of financial reports.
Cortney Heitzman, Accounting Manager
Cortney is in her 8th year of service with the Foundation. Her duties include reconciliation of the investments database, processing loan billings, process various accounting transactions, transfers of funds and maintain accounts for report purposes.
Ann Giancola, Staff Accountant
Ann is in her 1st year of service with the Foundation. Her duties include maintenance and billings of loans, recording of cash deposits, bank deposits, processing of general fund payables. Ann also is responsible for maintaining accounting records for the Hebrew Benevolent Loan Association.
